Duke of Edinburgh Award
Please note: the Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award Scheme is currently in recess at TAS.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award is a programme for 14 – 25 year olds which is open to all young people in NZ regardless of background or ability.
It is an internationally recognised award with more than 130 countries world-wide involved. Tauraroa Area School is pleased to now be an Award Unit and able to offer the programme.
The programme is about enabling young people to develop and build on their own strengths, interests and personalities to prepare them for the exciting adventure of life. Students involved participate in physical activity, community service, develop new skills and go on adventurous journeys as part of the requirements for The Award.
At Tauraroa Area School we encourage students to “be the best they can be.” Being a member of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award is an excellent way to do just that.
